Turkic Council confirm postponement of the 4th World Nomad Games

Turkey was scheduled to host the 4th World Nomad Games, but had to be postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Secretary General of the Turkic Council(Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States) Baghdad Amreyev has announced the postponement of the 4th World Nomad Games in Turkey. Turkey was scheduled to host the 4th World Nomad Games, but had to be postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Turkic Council organized a Video-Conference Meeting of the Ministers of Economy and Trade and Heads of Customs Administrations of the Member and Observer States.

“Despite the ongoing preparations by Turkey along with other Member States and the Secretariat of the Turkic Council for the excellent organization of the Games in Turkey, the 4th World Nomad Games had to be postponed to 2021 due to COVID-19 pandemic that has gripped the world.” said CCTS Secretary General Baghdad Amreyev.

World Nomad Games are an international sport competition dedicated to nomadic sports practiced throughout Central Asia by the Turkic peoples. The countries taking part in those games are the Central Asian Turkic-speaking countries as well as other countries like Turkey, Mongolia and Russia. The World Nomad Games was initiated by the Kyrgyz Republic at the 2nd Summit of the Turkic Council held in Bishkek in 2012. All previous three World Nomad Games were held in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan.
